A little background on Tenterden property:
The name Tenterden derives fom the Old English "Tenet Waraden" which means a clearing in the forest belonging to the men of Thanet. It lies on the edge of Tne Weald, overlooking the River Rother. Although now ten miles from the coast, it used to be one of England's Cinque Ports and a major centre for the woollen trade. The oldest building in the town is arguably St Mildred's Church, dating possibly from the tenth century but much altered over the years. Other notable buildings include the 18th century Town Hall on the High Street.
